After breakfast drive to Arusha for lunch. After lunch, drive through the Iraqw tribe farmlands to your lodge situated either in Karatu or in the Ngorongoro conservation area. The crater covers over 300 square kilometers of land and is the home of the rare black rhino, prides of lion, elephant, cheetah and great herds of buffalo, antelope and wildebeest. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Crater lodge.
Today you will descend over 600 meters to the floor of Ngorongoro crater for a day tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkey and elephant, the lake area where you may see flamingos and the open savannah where lions hunt for food. Picnic lunches will be served in the crater. Late afternoon drive back to Ngorongoro Crater lodge.
After breakfast visit Oldupai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries and drive on to Serengeti national park to arrive in time for lunch. This enormous park supports every variety of African animal imaginable - from large predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah to the herbivores they prey on. Afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Migration Camp.
Today you will spend the whole day on game drives in Serengeti. To maximize game viewing you will carry a picnic lunch with you and spend the full day in the park. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Migration Camp.
Breakfast at your lodge. Drive to Lake Manyara, a soda lake lying in the Rift Valley. Lunch at Kirurumu Tented Lodge. In the afternoon take a game drive in the park, home of the tree-climbing lions and a large variety of wildlife including giraffe, zebra, elephant, gazelle, bushbuck, hippopotami, monkeys and about 400 species of birds. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Tree lodge.
After breakfast drive to Arusha for lunch. After lunch drive to the Kenya / Tanzania border at Namanga and onto Amboseli national park. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge or similar.
Magnificent views of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro greet visitors from anywhere in this park. The park takes its name from a Maasai word meaning salty dust. The largest elephants in Africa live here and on some mornings over 600 have been counted in the swamps. Early morning and afternoon game drives offer the chance to track lion, cheetah, wildebeest and the rare black rhino. All meals and overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge or similar.
Depart after breakfast and drive to Lake Nakuru national park. Picnic lunch will be provided on the way. Check in to the park in time for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Flamingo Hill Camp or similar.
Drive via Narok to Maasai Mara national reserve. Lunch and afternoon game drive in the reserve. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or similar.
Today is spent in Maasai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives. The Mara is home to some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird species. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly ever misses seeing the 'Big Five'. Other game includes hippopotami, cheetah, Grant's gazelle, impala, topi, Coke’s hartebeest, giraffe, Roan antelope and wildebeest. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge or similar.
Breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving in time for your farewell lunch at the famous Carnivore restaurant. A transfer is included to your Nairobi hotel or to Jomo Kenyatta international Airport.
